Netscape Communications officially announced a new beta version of its browser, christened as Navigator 3.0.
Netscape Communications Corp. announced three additions to its SuiteSpot family that could make the company's standards-based server software realistically competitive with Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange.
The three new server products, Netscape Directory Server Netscape Mail Server 2.0, Netscape Certificate Server s.
MCI is unveiled a package of phone services from long distance to Internet access and cellular calling which will all appear on one bill. Called "MCI One," the basic package costs $5 per month and includes 30 minutes free long distance calling and five hours free on the Internet, plus voicemail, call waiting and an individual 1-800 or 1
888 number.For $37.95 the service includes a pager and free cellular phone, and discounts on cellular calling rates.

More than 50,000 computer users have dropped in on the world's first virtual trade show on the Internet, a turnout which the promoters say is sufficient to make it an annual event.
America Online has announced a new service, "Virtual Places," an online environment for content providers to create three-dimensional chat and activity centers for consumers.
AT&T it is offering the first point-to-point, terrestrial fiber-optic link from anywhere in the United States to Russia. AT&T's ACCUNET Digital Service will link to St. Petersburg and Moscow with connectivity from 64 kilobits per second up to 2.048 megabits per second for companies that need reliable and clear communications for applications such as Internet access, real-time videoconferencing and bulk data transfers.

Majority Of Small Businesses Not Tied To The Net
Nearly half of the small manufacturers responding to a survey said no one at their companies uses a computer for online business communications.
Of those responding to the survey by the National Association of Manufacturers, 44.3 percent said no one at their company uses a computer for online business communications, 25.5 percent said someone at the company uses the Internet for company business and 16 percent said the company uses an online subscription service, but not the Internet.
Computers Found In 34% of U.S. Households
The Software Publishers Association's fifth annual survey said the number of households with computers increased to 33.9 million from 32.6 million, while the percentage of homes with PCs remained at 34 percent. The survey of 630 random households found that 79 percent had machines compatible with computers made by IBM while 16 percent had Apple Computer machines, the same as last year. Seventy percent of PC households reported owning a modem, of which 46 percent subscribed to an on-line service. Of all PCs purchased in 1995, 83 percent were equipped with CD-ROM drives, compared with 55 percent in 1994, the survey said.
