Netscape releases beta Navigator 3.0

Netscape this week has released an early beta version of Netscape Navigator 3.0, code-named Atlas, on the Internet. Several new add-on programs include two new plug-ins: Live3D, a virtual reality modeling language viewer, for navigating three-dimensional environments, and a video plug-in for playing AVI movies. There's also a helper application, CoolTalk, for conducting audio and data conferences over the Internet. CoolTalk will allow users to have telephone conversations over the Internet at 14.4 Kbps and higher connection speeds.
Bill Gates - Internet Browsers Belong In Operating System
Microsoft Chairman William Gates, speaking at the first annual Internet & Electronic Commerce Conference & Exposition at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, said that he foresees the "Internet Browser' becoming an integral part of the operating system of the computer.
New Hampshire To Connect Public Schools To Internet
New Hampshire has unveiled plans to become the first state in the country to connect all of its 450 public schools to the Internet before the year 2000.
